Medical Treatment Visa

The visa is issued to patients who need to undergo specific medical treatments in Spain

Applications will be accepted maximum 180 days prior to the travel date

Biometric Ukranian Passport holders do not need visa to enter Schengen area.

Note: Exemption of Visa Fee for a child is applicable only in the case of Short Term category, if the child's age is less than 6 years at the date of submission.

BLS International Service charge

Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 68 AED (VAT exclusive) payable in cash.

Short stay visas (Schengen)

SPAIN - CHECKLIST FOR MEDICAL VISA)

Please Note:

Visa application form for minors (under the age of 18) must be signed by both parents/legal guardians.

* Passport must contain at least two empty pages.

  • No objection letters for children below the age of 18 must be signed by both the parents who must attach their original passports for verification
  • A birth certificate of the minor “translated into English or Spanish” is required to be submitted with the application.
  • Children between the age of 12 and 18 are also required to visit the application center for Biometrics enrollment.
  • In the case of minors travelling with guardians or travelling with one single parent will need authorization letter of the parent (parent who does not travel with the minor).

All the above NOC’s are to be supported with the copy of the Passports to prove the identity of the Parents/Guardian. Below mentioned documents are required for spouse/children/dependents who are not applying with their sponsor:

  • NOC from the sponsor along with his/her passport copy and residence visa copy.
  • Employment letter for the sponsor stating position, salary and start date of employment in UAE or copy of trade license if self-sponsor.
  • Sponsors up-to-date personal and original bank account statements for the last 3 months which states periodical salary transfer. (Embassy will not accept internet extracts)

In any case, according to Spanish regulations, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Spain in Abu Dhabi, through BLS:

  • may request any other documents, the appearance of the applicant or a personal interview
  • should resolve all application within a maximum period of 3 months
  • may archive the visa application process if it has not been picked up by the applicant within one month of notification or grant

Note: We regret we cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, and for minors below 3 years old photograph must not be more than 1 month old, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against white so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face (ears & forehead visible), non-smiling [without glasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background].
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre..

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same. Please note as per the instructions received from Embassy of Spain minimum processing time is 3 week(It may delay depending on case to case).

All applications must be submitted at least 3 week prior to the proposed date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.

Kindly note that application submitted in Dubai & Abu Dhabi centers will be sent to Embassy of Spain in Abu Dhabi next working day.

Processing time will start excluding the date of submission of application at BLS International Services.

Applicants submitting the applications towards the Embassy of Spain, Abu Dhabi with short processing time will be required to fill up the Declaration form.
